Mad Men

Yesterday AMC unveiled their new Mad Men poster for season 5. I got right on the case and sifted through a lot of 'Maddict' discussions and it seems they either love it; expounding on its merits and deep meanings - and I quote:

"The male mannequin in the burgundy velvet cigar jacket and pajama pants with leather slippers is clearly imitating Hugh Heffner. The female model has her dress pooled around her feet. The sixties were the Playboy age and this shows the sexualization of women. It also shows the shift in advertising. Don once chastised Peggy for saying "sex sells" by telling her that people that think that way also think that monkeys can do what they do. He said that "the product is you, feeling something". Don is looking at his reflection in this "sex in advertising" scenario because he has more to do with it than he probably wants to admit, and now he has to look at himself and live with what he has created as part of the world of advertising."

or they hate it; the term 'creepy' appearing more than once.

For those of you who think it's a bit creepy - let us imagine Don admiring some beautiful fashions in the store windows of Fifth Avenue.

Which do you prefer?
